Sort of off topic, but what are you doing as an alternative? I take it you were into Crisco at one time, but aren't anymore.

I think we've traveled down this path and have perhaps made a couple of wrong turns. Although there are a variety of methods for valuing inventory - LIFO, FIFO, specific method, margin method... all of which are acceptable gaap methods this really isn't the issue.

FD suggested all you have to do is change the ending inventory figure and viola - you change margins. What he is suggesting is not using any acceptable method for inventory valuation - he simply advocating pulling ending inventory numbers out of the air to alter COGS and therefore margins.
