Gottfried, read the article again. There was no error on Hickey's part. He stated that Intel (INTC:Nasdaq - news), which looks like it might be cheap because it's dropped in half, selling now at almost 40 times estimated earnings.

Intel is projected to have lower earnings in 2001 (by Zack's, among others):

Presumably, being a bear and all, Hickey is using the lower end of the range for his estimates (0.93 cents, which would give a PE of approximately 40 at the time of the interview).

Hickey is one of the better tech analysts, IMO, and he nailed 2000 perfectly (unlike most of his colleagues attached to major houses).
