Don't forget UNPH (Now part of JDSU), JDS Fitel (also now part of JDSU) and BRCM. He identified these before anyone I know.

You can't blame Gilder for the tech wreck. He is what he is. He was writing about fiber optics and the bandwidth explosion before most people were even wired to the internet. He identified QCOM and the superiority of CDMA before most people had ever made their first cell phone call.
