(GX) received a five-year $300 million contract to manage the messaging network for Swift, a messaging cooperative for the financial services industry. In a press release Monday, Global Crossing said it will integrate Swift's existing system into its own network. Brussels-based Swift supplies messaging services and interface software to 7,000 financial institutions in 190 countries.
