Sunbeam Files for Bankruptcy

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Reuters) - Home appliance maker Sunbeam Corp. (NYSE:SOC - news), burdened by a heavy debt load and shareholder lawsuits, said Tuesday that it has filed for voluntary bankruptcy reorganization.

The maker of Sunbeam appliances, First Alert smoke alarms and Coleman camping gear said all its operating units will conduct business as usual while it reorganizes under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company said its banks have agreed to provide it with a new $285 million line of credit, while it has also received a commitment from General Electric Co.'s (NYSE:GE - news) GE Capital Corp. for a new $200 million accounts receivable financing program for Sunbeam's domestic businesses.

Re: Optimistacally going to 25+ today, then passing DELL around 25.75

Re: it's going to be interesting how effective CPQ's re-imaging as an Enterprise Hardware/Services Corporation has taken hold

Hopefully, it'll do well enuf to surpass both 24+ and DELL today.

Which will make you more happy....Dell and Cpq going to mid 50's but DELL still a point or two ahead of CPQ....or Cpq passing DELL @ 26 but both stocks remaining stagnant for the next year? If the rhetoric of CPQ being an Enterprise Harware/Services Corp actually come to fruition, then the two companies shouldn't be spoken of in the same sentence.

Cheers,
