Excellent comments.

Like you, I think key indicators of where this market is heading are well illustrated in the unfolding consumer borrowing as well as the U.S. dollar. At the moment, both are not inspiring my confidence, but as you note, Allan's print fest could well postpone the day of reckoning.

To me, it's sort of like a face-off between lay-offs and credit cards. So far, Lay-offs hold the upper hand.

Will pulling it off mean forestalling the inevitable (which will have ballooned the problem) or actually creating a sound and well functioning economy?
