Interesting dell rumor........15:14 ET Dell Computer (DELL) 26 15/16 +2 1/2 ( -10.2%): Price run-up in Dell being attributed to a rumor that IBM Corp (IBM) is interested in making a bid for the company. Possible that seed for this rumor was planted in January note by Bear Stearns analyst Andy Neff that provided a host of consolidation scenarios for the PC sector. It that comment, however, Neff suggested that IBM sell its PC business to Dell versus the outright merger suggested by this rumor.
