The essence of that statement seems to me to still be real.

Why did Arun have to retire from the company?

K., I believe your post succinctly describes the underpinning of GNETers' frustration over the entire Jain debacle. I would guess that the saga of Jain and the craven Directors, who reportedly reversed their CEO vote for Russ, is rapidly approaching the end. It seems to me the firing announcement is an act of desperation resulting from the vote of no confidence which Wall Street attached to Jains's fatuous Conference Call. The Street simply did not need to wait 30 days for the promised restructuring by Jain, whose reputation for credibility on a scale of one to ten is zero. The current BOD must recognize it will not be absolved of responsibility if and when the details of the reported events leading up to Russ', Sarun's and Rosenberg's resignations become a matter of public record. Investors have rights, too. The pink slip strategy seems to have reinforced Wall Street's thumbs down judgment. Jain and the BOD seem to have run out of time to provide a remedy. How will the bleeding be stanched?...I must consult with the good doctor...levy, will you be available to cauterize?
