I used one of those wacom tablets once, didn't love it. So I just scan drawings if done by hand or draw them in Photoshop or illustrator on screen, sometimes right over a rough sketch I've scanned in to guide me. It's amazing how the dexterity of your hand increases by drawing with a mouse regularly, it becomes a like pen after a while. I think you will get better if you just practice drawing curves with a brush or pencil tool for a few days straight <g>
