"However, If this was such a big milestone, and there is tons of short interest on JDSU - then how do you explain a small 2 point pop?"

1. Lack of updated guidance until next week.
2. Cisco earnings
3. Inventory correction going on right now
4. AMCC news
5. Negative psychology for this sector

Portfolio managers are nervous about tech. They feel better buying "safer" stocks right now, and they tend to run in herds, because it makes them feel better. There is no way to know when buyers get aggressive or when shorts ring the cash register, but if you believe that growth in optical continues unabated, then it will happen.

Good luck,
Ross

If CSCO disappoints market will go up. Same as happened
with the last 10 mega companies who disappointed in the
last 30 days and rallied back up,from INTC to Dell, HP, etc.
Don't you think the Street expects disappointment?
Everybody has disappointed. So what is new?
