Yes apparently we have not seen the last of the plot line. The preview for the next show showed that there would be a cross over with The Practice with the fired teacher sueing to get his job back.

They made the teacher who was having the affair fairly sympathetic, but I don't have much compassion for people who can't control themselves.

They made a big deal about how she was 18 and that they were in love rather then just him being a preditor taking advantage of her. Well she's 18 so he isn't prosecuted. And yes it was consensual, but your right even when he decided to end it (atleast until she graduated) he couldn't keep his hands off of her. As you pointed out he had no self control. He was allowed to resign quietly and I can't really say he was treated unfairly. He knew the rules, the rules were not unreasonable, but he broke them and kept breaking them.
