Ravi Surya, the bond analyst of Lehman Bros has now warned thrice over amazon convertible bonds. The conversion price is so far OTM that it does not appreciate much even if Amazon stock rises 10 %. What matters is when AG keeps lowering interest rate which makes bonds more attractive. Although bond holders get paid ahead of shareholders in liquidation, what good is it if you only get pennies on the dollar? Amazon has almost $ 1 billion negative equity!! PT Barnum said it so well: there is one born every day, and that person buys amazon stock. Just witness today's action: up 1 3/8 !!
