The irretrievably promiscuous women on SI get threads dedicated to them. Because some men secretly and not so secretly (but oh so hypocritically) love irretrievably promiscuous women. They want them, but feel guilty for wanting them, and probably dirty, and sinful too. They want to have cyber sex and phone sex with them. But those women are not the women they get angry at. Men get angry at women who they know would never stoop so low as to sleep with them. Virtuous, strong, out of reach women will always be irritating to spineless men of weak morals, who wish they were better than they are.

Sometimes we slide down to the level of those around us. In this case, unfortunately, it's a pretty long slide. I see plenty of mud to go around Steve. The extremes on both sides of this issue will never be happy because the extremes in this issue are diametriclly opposed. Frankly, I understand both sides and can't muster the energy to argue hard in either direction. Just don't pretend that the only nastiness comes from the other side. There are good intentioned, contientious,[sic] honorable people on both sides of the issue.
