Victor, just last month ALA inked 1.2B $ C&W deal for Apollo
IP/optical network.
In November ALA won 1.8 B $ optical deal with 360Network, which is buying some gears from Cisco.
If Cisco is really end to end provider why they do not get such large carrier class deals?
Just today CSCO has admitted that they lost some shares in DSL space b/c of .......
The fact is ALA which has 54% world market in DSL is taking business form everybody.
CSCO claims they have so call next generation of DSLAMs.
Well ALA did 1 billion in so call next gen, and much more in others category of DSL.
Most of ATM+IP business in SBC is also going ALA way and CSCO deal with SBC unit Ameritech is now in question( exapt enterprise)....
Chambers did not even answered that question re:SBC, saying they are moving to packet based networks. Well this part we know.
