Dear ecommerceman: I said EFFECTIVE tax rate which is his GROSS INCOME divided into the tax he pays. I never had the pleasure of being associated with Mr. Gates return, however I have done the returns of many famous people whom YOU WOULD KNOW just by name. I assure you my numbers are correct in that context. I cannot divulge any further info on them but as to just myself, I had an income in the 6 figures and my effective rate was generally about 16%.
