Once upon a time...moonstuff I did a study of the effects of astrology on the DOW average. I seem to recall that Jupiter and Saturn had remarkably timed patterns with bull and bear markets. In astrology, Jupiter is the planet of money, wealth, and expansion, while Saturn is the planet of restrictions and hurdles to overcome. Bear markets tended to occur when Jupiter was in retrograde, moving backwards relative to Earth. I haven't checked this lately. Mercury also was involved, but I forget how.
