Amazon could fail, but it has undeniably changed the way we buy stuff in the USA. It's a great company, not necessarily a great stock.

Congratulations to your cool post of the day.

As the story goes: first Bezos wanted the name Abacadabra.com, but decided it was too long. His ego dictated that the name must start with an "A" (so it will be listed ahead of other etailers). Anaconda was considered next: it reflects the largest snake in the world. However "snake" has a negative connotation. Then, voila!! Anaconda lives in the Amazon: the world's largest jungle. What better name than Amazon.com? Bezos never knew what amazon means in Brazil/Portugese.

Lately, Amazon surely has been a green hell for Bezos.
