Not only was the HM production a record 2.2moz, their cash costs were down about $20 per ounce from a year ago. They plan to produce 2.3moz @ $168 cash in 2001, and set a new record !

Here are some huge unexpected numbers. NEM production was up 18% for the year (4.94moz), and up 30% in the fourth quarter (1.6moz). Does not include BMG yet: "With the successful completion of our merger with Battle Mountain Gold Company in early January, we expect to produce approximately 5.4 million equity ounces of gold in 2001.

P.S. About 35 of the 80 firms I track have reported 38.44moz in 2000 versus 36.39moz in 1999, up 5.6%.
