It was so significant, Jill Munden, SI's spokesperson was required to issue a "statement" about fall in "visitors" ystdy in fact...& she refused to blame it on the "current market downturn..." Remember Jill? She was SI(Bob) before SI(Bob) was "Bob" 2) Have you read InfoSpace's mission statement lately? Acc'd to SHfn: just which of the loci/foci do you see SI fitting into: InfoSpace established itself by providing national yellow and white pages directories on the Internet. It is now the leading global provider of infrastructure services for Web sites, merchants and wireless devices. Its content includes maps, classified ads, news, stock quotes, music and television listings. Eight of the top nine wireless carriers in the United States are InfoSpace clients, and its affiliate network consists of more than 3,000 websites. 1) SI=Yellow Pages Directories? NOT 2) SI=White Pages DIrectories? NOT 3) SI=infrastructure for Websites? NOT 4) SI=classified ads? NOT 5) SI=news (wires type service dissemination?) NOT 6) SI=stock quotes? YES...A DIME A DOZEN OUT THERE...don't see anything making SI particulary outstanding in THAT arena! 7) SI=Television listings svc? NOT 8) SI=Music listing svc? NOT stockhouse.com INSP has fallen from the $130s to $4 and change...and still requires 950 employees to run it? Return to profitability seems a long ways away... and adding the poof-button to Brad and Jeff's job description does NOT sound like sound flow-chart job descriptions additions to this casual observer. Yes, the handwriting is on the wall, and we'd do well to read the goat entrails and come to the right conclusion while we still have a chance to keep in touch with each other. gold_tutor
