There is an article on page 2 of today's Australian Financial review business section regarding yesterday's press release. It includes "Siemens' withdrawal from the British-based project indicates there may be problems with the technology or costs involved." Sorry, no way to link in, membership site. I called Roberta again, and she indicated this conclusion is the author speculating, and isn't representative of the facts. She noted that the reference to the project as being "British-based" supports the contention that the story isn't accurate. She did concede that Siemens intends to sell their entire stake, but a new business arrangement would be put in place to replace it. She maintained that Siemens has not changed their opinion of OCP. But you can't count on all sorts of additional manipulation as a result of this. When you read those posts, ask yourself this: WHY would someone post perpetual bad remarks about OE? They are either selling the stock short, attempting to drive the price down so they buy shares for less, or are an incompetent investor. No matter what answer you choose, the person has zero credibility. At least with those promoting a stock you have a substantial number of them posting honestly. Those posts also are generally more informed, referring to more details and a general knowledge of the company that the negative posts lack. Not to mention a technical discussion the negative posts rarely include. No company is perfect. But someone who has only posted negative things is trying to manipulate you. There's no way around it. They have to fall into one of those categories, and all three are bad.
