Howard University, in Washington DC, was the first black university.

Booker T. Washington founded Tuskegee. Carver was its most illustrious professor.

General Grant was from Ohio.

Again, it was kind of hard one, so you really did quite well.

It's the Virginia state motto and roughly translates to "thus always to tyrants".

A bit strange considering Booth was a Marylander.
