Question: If a stock gets another market maker in a stock does this mean they think that the stock is going to be more active soon? In hopes of a run up?

It means interest is growing in the stock. Everytime a stock
has a growing list of Market Makers, means strength and depth
in the stock. The MM's will line up, changes in that line
up also means strength and interest in the stock. That is
one big advantage of having & using Real time Level II.
