I'd like to see engineer talk about OFDM and Flarion. It would be nice to see some technical discussions about Flash-OFDM, Flarion's mobile data application.

Seems to me that improvements in HDR's speed (the "several fold" increases in HDR's speed Gilder talked about last year) might make Flash-OFDM a flash in the pan, but I'm no techie.

Yes you are wrong on this account.

1x supports all the IS95A-B features. That is what backward compatible all about.

So that means you can get your 64Kbps on 1x networks with your MSM3100. Although the way to achieve that speed is not as efficient as MSM5100 series.
