Iraq's army is almost back to pre-Gulf war strength levels.

of course Israel's military hardware is vastly superior, and while Iraq has a formidable arsenal of bacteriological and chemical weapons, it does reportedly not have really good delivery systems (i.e. missiles).

BUT there's a rumor (apparently a defector has told the CIA this) that Iraq owns two nuclear devices. and there still are those Russian briefcase bombs that have gone missing.

i believe the Iraqi leadership is well aware of its limitations - however, what if they plan something sneaky, along the lines of a terrorist attack, only much worse in terms of effect/consequences?

don't forget, the hatred runs deep...if they CAN do something, they most likely WILL.
