<We will also continue to enforce the current TOU that keep SI a quality community>

I hope this "quality" is not the same quality that we have seen over the past year. It seems to me that SI has gone downhill from the glory of years past. I also find myself disturbed by the release of SI Bob. I can't imagine how this fits into your plans of QUALITY CONTROL! My sense, based on the whiplash of fellow SI posters, is that you have made a PR blunder.

How long will it be before an announcement of yet further problems at INSP. What's next? Accounting irregularities?
My guess is it that it wont be too long.

JMHO

Appreciate that Mike...We hadn't heard from you since November 29,2000... SI is truly an amazing Community...and I believe if you read all the posts you will understand just how amazing.

Took me many years to understand this, but I do now....

When people are angry, underneath the anger is fear.

Most of us have appreciated SI AND THE SI TEAM from the day we PAID for the to privilege to post here. Since the merger, the fear is that perhaps management didn't understand SI and the SI community.

Many of us are shareholders, and most of us have other members of our families and friends who are also shareholders. We want INSP to succeed. We are extremely concerned about the events of the last two months!!!

What many people don't realize is the power of the group. All by ourselves, we, the SI Community, could let EVERYONE in our reach (email and other) know about SI, and INSP.

INSP seems to have made the decision that "consumer" isn't the direction they are taking. For that reason, it would be my guess that most of us are keeping SI "under wraps" for the minute, instead of doing our own brand of PR.

Remember that old saying "Pay attention to how one Walks the Walk, and not how he/she Talks the Talk" ..... Hopefully we will be able to watch the Walk go forward.

The very best to the remaining SI Team!

TLC's posts have helped me develop a certain facility with dealing with Dr. Pepper on the monitor and keyboard. I'm happy to report now that what works for DP also seems to work for Budweiser..

continuing to enhance the site and the underlying technologies

I'm also happy to report that that statement didn't cause a shudder followed by a sense of dread this time.

your community

Dear Mr. Coddington,

I believe your title at INSP is something like "Managing Director of Silicon Investor." I believe that was BryanB's old title when GNET owned it, if I'm not mistaken. In fact, he use to post on SI quite often...back in the "good old days" (last year, pre-"merger").

I don't believe I've met you, but I wish to thank you so much for your encouraging post to us on this thread regarding the future of Silicon Investor. I understand you made the same post on several other threads today. In fact, I also received the same information later today in a PM from you.

I can only assume that your multiple posts (and PM's) were approved by the company's "new" CEO, in advance. The "new" BIG GUY, so to speak. And many of us investors absolutely trust every single word he utters...

However, I just have one question for you...
when he said something to the effect,
"InfoSpace will be the world's first trillion dollar company,"
can we still believe that also?

Those of us investors who believed him when he said that, (some of whom bought the stock back around $134/share), have watched it dropped into the $3's, and become a penny stock this week. A PENNY STOCK! We have also watched some highly respected people leave the company, many analysts downgrade the stock, and to top it all off, the firing of SI Bob (a "legend" here at SI).

So, when you say, "The answer is no," regarding whether InfoSpace plans to "abandon" SI, I'm sure you can understand that at the moment, some people may take ANYTHING coming from the "current" management of INSP, with a VERY large grain of salt (to put it very mildly). In fact, from the many posts I've been reading this past year, a heck of a lot of people don't trust anything Mr. Jain (or his representatives) has to say. Perhaps they're all wrong. I can't say.

I'm sure you're a great guy,
but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Pass it on!

Sincerely,
Roger
