We will run out of gas. Global warming is occuring

Won't those two problems be solved once CA. falls into the ocean? There will be more gas for the rest of us, and all of the dust will block out the sun cooling down the earth; sort of like a nuclear winter. Plus if enough of the west falls into ocean, eventually I will wind up with beach front property. Case solved.

Scumbria,

There are many things that can wreak havoc in our society. Assuming a limited budget I don't see how we justify the particularly far-fetched scenario of North Korea launching a nuclear missile, as being worth spending $100 billion on.

Where do you get the $100 billion figure?
