LP, if you follow elmadator on "last mile technology"
he has theory that all RBOCs like SBC, Verizon or Bell South
who are deploying DSL (Bell South will triple DSL this year to 600k lines see BS home page) are doing it only to pleased
FCC. This means that SBC is dumping 6 billion in Pronto project and nobody, care about it.
This means that SBC do not want to provide DSL to customers and charge them 39$.
This mean that SBC, VZ buy ALA DSL only b/c they like ALA
etc.
ALl people who are using DSL do not exist.
And all research firms and analysts are idiots and do not know what is going on.
Now is your turn to make your own conclusion.
BTW, elmatator admitted on last mile thread that he works for
Siemens wireless projects, set up Siemens thread on SI.
Finally he thinks that everything beyond wireless is bad.

BTW Elmat, Since you have me pegged as a scavenger, with a nasty butt - no less, do you have any insight on the
services that are mentioned here ?
biz.yahoo.com

Good Grief Elmat, we gotta get your mind off your DSL bashing. Hope my opinions helped .

Certainly we gotta do something with those spare
lines. Here in the states, we are tying up circuit switched
stuff -- by leasing additional lines and using them
strictly for 56K internet access. xDSL will eliminate this
waste.

Most folks agree that far too many people without access
to voice, and data (any bandwidth is better than none)--
need your help in getting connected via the last mile
"ether" connection.

Still checkin my nasty butt for footprints.
What size shoe, did you say ??

Keep away from that DSL stuff, it gets you in a bad mood.

Mardy.

In Paris, Alcatel closed down 4.83% to 361.76FF. Not a good day there for Alcatel. Not as bad yet on the NYSE.
