I do know he was smart enough to beat a democratic incumbant in Texas and to get relected and to win the presidency, despite all of Gore's advantages. By the way why is Al Gore so smart. Flunked out of divinity school. Couldn't make it through law school. Couldn't formulate a coherent vision for his campaign. Made outrageous claim after outrageous claim e.g "I invented the internet" thereby shooting himself in the foot. I think it is distinctly possible that we dems are underestimating Bush and I know Gore has been overestimated. Little joe
