Hi David,

I don't look for SD to suffer the same faith as Springboard did. Springboard is a proprietary standard, and it didn't gain support from 1st tier manufactures until lately. Even so, the support is spotty. SD is completely different. It is NOT a Palm standard. It's an industry standard supported by almost all major electronics makers besides Sony. Because of the wide support in SD by cell phone makers, PDA makers, and digital multimedia makers, 1st tier manufactures will make devices for this market. I believe the ramp up will be much more fluid than the Springboard case.

The follow up concern is how much life is left in Springboard when SD becomes the de facto standard. As tough as it's going to be, Handspring will have to dump Springboard, or risks loosing its business.

Regards,

Khan
