Ted, I thought the Valdez crashed in the Sound. I had no idea the Valdez was traveling overland near Anwar. I totally agree that the oil companies shouldn't be sailing their tankers around Anwar.

In all seriousness, the Valdez was a tanker, which happened to be carrying Alaskan oil just outside the sound when it crashed. There is an inherent danger when you ship anything, that accidents will happen. Surely you aren't trying to suggest that all tankers should be banned from the seas. Nor do I see any direct connection to the drilling operations in Anwar and the tanker operations on the other end of the pipeline. Those are two separate issues.
