Ed - you endorse my "Convergence of Divergence" theory here... ie: we have seen a "convergence of the divergence of opinion here"... the Bears have turned bullish & the Bullish have turned a bit cautionary & bearish and that's a good thing imho ~ It is probably the BEST signal of a bottom trough forming and no one needs to be "hero" and catch the exact tic bottom - one only needs to be "accumulating" into the formation of bottoms - ie: the cheapest 90 day window in XAU history this fall, or the dark days of $10 Oil in the Fall of 1998 and OSX 45. There is fear, caution and optimism in the market - and for all the right reasons for once imho. I'm far, far from "leveraging" Tech, or calling an over-sold absolute tech bottom where I become fully invested; rather I see a window to where I have to "begin averaging in" into select names and I am not trying for any mid-cap, 2nd, or 3rd tier traders - strictly the names; CSCO INTC SUNW ORCL EMC - with an occassional strong niche-king like PMCS thrown in. As usual; we shall see... The challenge will be for me to not flip $30 CSCO at $45 in what will probably arrive sooner than we think; but to hold it for a couple of years... PS - how about the Secret Service showing a little restraint & compasion in just shooting that nutball in the leg instead of vaporizing him with a couple of bursts from those MP5K's & AR 15's... heliocopters & swat team responding, they had some heavy artillery out pretty quick... very impressive...
