This number is better than expected after TSMC warned that it faces a 25% qoq decline in sales in 1Q01. UMC will hold its analysts conference on February 14, then we can have a better idea about UMC's operations during 1Q01. At this point, we expect a 20% qoq decline in its sales in 1Q01 as UMC has fewer customers from the gloomy North America.
