Pervert Paul - Re: don't run ANYTHING 'cuz the DON'T EXIST!

The Itanic has been sampling for what, a year now? And even the best and brightest at Intel can't turn that sow's ear into something worth releasing. The whole merced/Itanic/McKinley program was a bad idea. The iapx432 that inspired it was a bad idea, and trying to go back in time to remove an old humiliation may be cathartic for some of the old timers at Intel, but it's been a disaster for the company.

By the time Intel manages to ship a version of its Alpha killer (Itanic really doesn't have anything to do with the X86 compatible SHV server market) AMD will be marketing X86 compatible 64 bit servers. Intel has left huge opportunity for AMD, and AMD is grabbing it with both hands.

Unbelievable that Intel would let another company have the 64 bit X86 market, isn't it? But they did.
