I haven't seen Poet's post, but the Dalmatian problem perplexes us because if
you mistreat an animal here, you could end up in jail. People are very concerned
about animal abuse, and it wouldn't take much to get into trouble. I keep my cat
inside and so does my next door neighbor.

I'm not sure where this fellow lives who rescued the Dalmatians, but I believe he lives
in the general area. I know one man who has a Dalmatian and he walks it every day.
It is a very gentle dog, and even the dog that was pulled out of the dumpster was gentle.
She was a female, and she could have had a litter of pups. Maybe someone sold the pups
and got rid of the mother. The dogs are pure bred.

Large dogs are not suited for this area. There isn't the space. In the past it was mostly a cat
neighborhood until younger people moved in and bought huge dogs.

Anyway, the fellow who rescued his last Dalmatian said people were tossing them out so fast
that he felt he had to start a shelter.
