Dear Holy one,
Would you please get rid of these dumb pop up ad's that are on top of the screen. Every Time I see the "punch the monkey and win" ad, I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not in yahoo land.

bp550 more request are coming

<<Rather than let SI fold, I would buy it (price to be determined) and turn it into a financially and communicatively successful operation. Then I would seriously consider selling the company to its members, >>

A mutual company? Sounds great. Subscribers owning the shares.

Peter,

Time to draw up a rough business plan? No Excel spread sheets needed yet. Sort of a back of an envelope guesstimate job until INSP will let loose with real numbers.

Paul

PS: Tons of slightly used servers and routers on the market these days.

Peter, this message is being by SI to all its members. It eliminates the concern of SI going kaput.

Regards,

Tom

Dear Silicon Investor Members,

This note is in response to many posts and PMs you have sent about the recent
announcements made by InfoSpace regarding the corporate strategy and the
actions that the company has and will take to realize this strategy. In particular the
impact this has had on the SI team. Unfortunately I can’t get into the specifics of this.

I can however answer one question that many of you have raised: Does InfoSpace
plan to abandon, sell off or shut down SI? The answer is no, SI is an important part of
InfoSpace and we are continuing to enhance the site and the underlying
technologies. We will also continue to enforce the current TOU that keep SI a quality
community.

Clearly there is concern and frustration in the community. It would be very foolish to
think a post from myself or the team would address this. All I can do is assure you
that we plan to continue to enhance SI to support your community.

peter, that appears to be a good idea, ...would surely be a challenging thing and I like the idea more than the other possibility to sell it off cheaply (like it happened to RB... but this was another thing).

Some questions remain after mcod's message (as posted by Tom) especially with respect to the point who decides what in INSP/GNET/SI.

peter,

Count me in too, but I insist on buying the Class A shares, which happen to hold 99% of the voting power, with the remaining 1% distributed amongst the Class B shares, which are what everyone else has to buy.

Thanks,

-- Pete
