The California power utilities sold off several of their power generating plants to private companies. These companies in turn have inflated the cost of energy into the stratosphere. True that we have not built any new plants because of environmentalists but it is also the fault of elitists that don't want the plants in their back yard. You can well imagine who owns the coastal property out here that is well suited for these large power generating plants. By the way.........the power utilities just turned over a total sum of 10 billion dollars to their parent company and the parent company is not allowed to return it to keep the utilities from bankruptcy........how convenient!!!!! The taxpayers get to bail them out!!! Republican Gov Pete Wilson and a Republican state Assembly passed the bill and EVERY Democrat signed it also. Believe your right wing rhetoric if you want,but if you don't recognize the truth then it'll happen elsewhere. Beware of socialized cost and privatized profit of the businessmen who run these huge energy companies like Enron from Houston and Duke Energy from NC.
