the vote that counts
Bush got 55% of the vote that counts. The Supreme Court that is. It was only through the treasonist actions of Scalia, Thomas, and others that Bush got anywhere. There will always be an asterisk by his name.

Bush didn't even get a plurailty of the popular vote. But he did get 55.5% of the only vote that counted -- 5-4 in the USSC. That's it, period. If the recounts had been completed in Florida, he would have lost. And were it not for a total fluke in the ballots in Duvall (Pres. candidates on 2 pages) and Palm Beach County (butterfly ballot), he would have lost Florida by well over 40,000 votes.

The American people didn't elect Bush -- he was elected by 5 conservatives in robes, the spiritual leader of which was his recent guest to dinner at the White House (Anthony and Antonio, as Dubya called him - LOL).

BTW - I have no problem eliminating the estate tax for estates under $5 Million (or even more) to cover the issues you raise regarding relatively modest family businesses. It's the elimination of that tax for estates over $10 Million that is offensive.
