Identix Biometric Security Products Receive The
Microsoft Windows 2000 Certification

BioLogon(TM) for Windows 2000 and BioTouch(TM) PC Card First Windows 2000(R) Biometrics
Hardware and Software Products Qualified and Certified by Microsoft

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Amex: IDX - news), the worldwide leader in providing biometric authentication, security and identification solutions, announced today that its BioLogon software and BioTouch PC Card fingerprint reader received certification for Windows 2000 Professional from Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT - news). Identix's products are the first biometric software plus hardware solution to be qualified by Microsoft for Windows 2000 Professional. BioTouch, Identix's PCMCIA biometric security card for portable computers, has passed Windows Logo Program and Testing and has achieved the ``Designed for Windows 2000 Professional'' logo. Identix's BioLogon software for Windows 2000 received certification independently from VeriTest, Microsoft's approved software testing supplier.

``We are proud to be recognized as the first biometrics hardware and software products to be qualified and certified under Microsoft's high standards,'' said Mike Chaudoin, Business Unit Senior Director for the IT Security division at Identix. ``Microsoft certification strongly validates Identix's reputation of providing hardware and software that meet the highest levels of performance quality, consistency and durability, and, in our view, further cements our position as the biometrics industry leader.''

``We have worked closely with Microsoft since our first public showing of this product at the Windows 2000 launch in February 2000,'' Chaudoin continued. ``BioLogon and BioTouch allow users to securely logon to their Windows 2000 computers and networks without having to remember or type awkward passwords.''

``Windows 2000 certification establishes the highest technical standard to identify applications that are secure, manageable and run reliably on the Windows 2000 platform,'' said Peter Ollodart, group manager for strategic partners, Microsoft Corp. ``Rigorous testing has verified that Identix's BioLogon will be easy to deploy and manage in a Windows 2000 enterprise environment. Microsoft is excited about Identix's commitment to making the best Windows 2000 experience for our mutual customers.''

Identix CEO Robert McCashin said, ``Microsoft's certification of our products strongly supports our belief in the growing support for, and adoption of, our biometric security solutions and services in the global marketplace. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Microsoft to support each and every operating platform they develop, and to providing the Microsoft sales force with biometric heightened security solutions to assist them in promoting Microsoft products. The end result is tighter network security in a very user-friendly application, which benefits companies and end-users worldwide.''

The Microsoft certification program helps customers identify reliable and manageable applications for Microsoft products. According to independent research firm Gartner Group, Microsoft customers enjoying the functionality provided by Windows 2000 can save up to 27 percent of application-related administration costs, significantly reducing testing when they use certified applications.

Microsoft certifies applications that meet desktop specifications for Windows 2000 to enable better co-existence of
applications, facilitate easier software deployment and management, ensure the applications run in a tightly controlled network environment and provide a consistent user experience that supports accessibility standards to reduce support and training costs, as well as to ensure smooth upgrade transition and support of OnNow power management for a better mobile computing experience.

Microsoft qualified products from Identix will be available though global distribution channels including Compaq, Toshiba, Dell, Key Tronic, Cherry Electronics and SCM Micro.

Still Hanging

steve,

The Big Boss and I have been doing some advanced research on some golf resort properties down South.....and It is selling/building time again. Lots to do. Need to design something that the Big Boss will like.....and of course nail the bottom the interest rate cycle.

Lots of Californians are loading up the truck right about now......I think they might have found out that we have the lowest electric rates in the nation.....So I need to brush up on my Californian..."cool, dude"....."awesome"......"we can close this puppy tomorrow"....and so on.

Meanwhile, I have been adding to our common....and as always, looking for a better price for some dipping into the option well.
