It is hardly fair to give that much credit to that bill.

I disagree. In 1992/1993 much of the the country was in a panic about the budget. (Look how many people voted for Perot.) Passage of the Bill prompted AG to lower interest rates, and the economy came back to life.

Contrary to the standard Republican historical rewrite, the economy was teetering on the edge of collapse in 1992, due to a belief that the deficit was out of control.

I suspect that Bush will bring us back to those ugly days within the next three years. If we start running a deficit again, the whole house of cards will come tumbling down.
