It's irritating when people cite TA as the reason for a call when ignoring the fundamentals. I know that TA is part of the story, but I can be irritated nonetheless.

I just checked out your profile and now understand why you're so pessimistic and negative. You're a NY Giants fan.

I'm guessing you don't want to back two big losers in such a short time period! :-)

Also, while balance is good, most of us on this thread are long term investors in NTAP. Given that, it doesn't really matter if some yahoo thinks it will move up or down into or after earnings (unless someone is trading or playing short term options). So, when you continue to post short term gloom and doom, you're going to get reactive posts of annoyance. If you have substantive information as to why you think that NTAP as a company is in danger of losing market share, then that would be good "balanced" information for the thread to examine.

>> Too many novice investors around here who first off think markets only go up...

Some experienced ones, too. Hey, I think I'm one of them <gg>.

But in order to accurately represent my thinking, you'd have to amend the phrase to read to "stocks of great companies only go up over the long term". The trick is to identify a great company like ntap and then have lots of patience.

>> ... and secondly if someone posts something slightly negative here on SI that it's gonna move a stock down.

While it's been proven that stock board trash talk or hype can influence short term valuations for thinly traded penny stocks, it can't do anything to a stock like ntap. That doesn't stop some idiots from trying, though (just check out the Cisco thread). But based on your posting history, I'm 100% sure that wasn't your intention. That's the nice thing about having archives attached to folk's profiles - it makes it real easy to figure out who's a good guy and who's a rascal <gg>.

I do want to apologize for suggesting that you were short. I was annoyed at the link to the "daytrader's " post, and as an investor that focuses more on LT fundamentals, I was irritated.
