Hi Karen and Meph,

I'm glad to hear there are rescue organizations for dogs that are systematically dumped. My little pit bull was in terrble physical shape when I adopted her. Luckily, she found a family, but I'm glad there are other alternatives.

Strange sloshing in the market today...

We have PAWS! I believe they deal only with cats. I spoke with them
when our cat got sick because I didn't know what to do because we didn't
believe he was a stray because he was such a nice cat.

The vet who treated our cat when he was sick said that city cats rarely starve
and told us that our cat had been abandoned. When he became seriously ill,
I ran around the neighborhood and looked for an owner because I knew he would die if he didn't
receive medical attention immediately..

He was in hospital for three days on IVs etc. And if we had not wanted to keep
him and pay for his hospital care, the animal hospital would have kept him.
