the local dialup that I use for my primary email acct ... the one with the 6-1 ratio about which I was bragging ..
has local numbers all over the nation that I can use both for email access and internet access ...

the only hitch is that there are some areas that I can't get in because there is no local fee free connection, but I've not had difficulty in any city where I've visited ...

but I will try the Amex site this weekend as I would like a "spare email address" where I wouldn't be too concerned with spam flood ...

On the road try mollymail.com.
With mollymail you can view new Email from your existing email accounts
from any browser, no need for an email program, best of all it leaves your email
on your ISP's server so it's still there when you get home. Outgoing email is also
available from mollymail. I've been using it for a few months and love it.
