Jesus did teach that it was the spirit of the Law that was important. but the question to ask is, just what is the Spirit of the Law saying? ......Jesus was asked, which of all these Laws was the most important? Tom responded to you by saying : Obeying the letter of the law is not as important as obeying the spirit of the law. God is not necessarily a person or being. God is an idea, a notion. Just what part of the "spirit" of Tom's response did you not understand , since you found yourself almost completely agreeing with him , yet are saying you disagree? You didn't even read the essay did you ? Over your head perhaps ? As to this thread not being "antagonistic " , there are volumes of spiteful debates I have seen going on here , as to just be appalled. The "Christian Way" ? More like little lost children fighting in the sandbox<g> For SI , this is about as far into the recesses of the backwoods of open and free discussion as you can get. have a good day, <g>
