I thought I had you on ignore, but I guess not. Maybe SI messed up.
RE: hate crimes. Maybe some people just hate everybody. So, if they commit a crime, is that a hate crime? Was this crime an act of love? Why do hate crimes have to directed at a certain race or people of certain sexual persuasions to be considered a hate crime?
Anyway, I don't really care about the motive for committing a crime, it is still a crime and should be punished as such.
I await your response and personal attack on me with bated breath :-)

I'm sorry- I missed any mention of the guys doing this because of a racial motive. Did they just want to rob and kill people- or did they want to kill white people?

Should it matter if they are motivated by greed and lust (at least one of the women was raped), and general desire for violence, or hatred for white people? The murdered people are just as dead either way. What if it was motivated by hatred but not racial hatred? Is it then a hate crime? Should it be? I don't see why we should even have hate crimes. If someone bashes my head in and takes my wallet I really don't care if he did it because he wanted money or he did it because he hate white people. Either way I would want him to be prosecuted for assault and battery and theft (or whatever the law in the specific state calls these crimes).
