Half-Million Dollars Falls From Armored Car
dailynews.yahoo.com

CLEVELAND (Reuters) - A search was underway for an estimated $500,000 that tumbled
out of an armored car traveling from the Federal Reserve (news - web sites) Bank in
Cleveland to Akron, Ohio, an FBI (news - web sites) spokesman said.

FBI spokesman Robert Hawk said three bundles of money fell from the truck on
Wednesday shortly after it departed the Federal Reserve Bank loading dock in downtown
Cleveland for a half-mile trip.

A bevy of FBI agents canvassed the route the AT Systems truck traveled before guards on
the vehicle noticed that the rear door was open and the money gone.

Hawk said a $50,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the return of the
cash.
