Hi Barb, You seem to make a habit of distorting my statements. This is not appropriate if your purpose is to exchange ideas and question & consider other points of view. I guess it would possibly be useful as a tactic if your intention was to set up a 'straw man' and attack it demagogically. Little to gain here from that sort of behavior. So perhaps you just don't grasp the difference between what I write and your distortions of my statements? As you may remember, I don't call myself a Libertarian. It is my perception, however, that it is you, not me, who has <<<"...no clue what it is to be a Libertarian...">>> Your statements irt the 'cannon' question are just the latest in a series of statements by you that indicate to me that you are not really against big intrusive gvrnmnt, but only in favor of less gvrnmnt intrusion in situations where you disagree with the purpose of its intrusion. In other situations you want gvrnmnt to be a powerful entity which will impose what you think is 'Right' on those other people who don't see things the 'Right' way (ie, your way). It seems you are quick to want gvrnmnt intrusion then. You know what's right and you want the gvrnmnt to step in and do whatever needs to be done to make things right. Right? <G> ---This is not Libertarianism, imho. I don't claim that all my views are the official views of the Libertarian party. But it seems to me that you are the one here who is misrepresenting herself as representing Libertarianism. Your expressed views are clearly out of line with the official statements of the party. That's fine --- You can hold any belief you want, but implying that your views are the views of the Libertarian party is wrong, imho. btw, You didn't answer my previous question to you --- ---What about abortion??? Somebody's rights have got to be being violated there. Your opinion? Or rather, tell me what's 'Right' and what you 'Know' the gvrnmnt should be doing to enforce your certainty on the rest of us? Or just ignore the question, if you prefer. I doubt you'd have anything of substance to say. --- I've found your posts regarding the stock market interesting and useful, and doubtless you are a well-informed and astute person in other areas also. But not political philosophy, imho. In this you are shallow & closed-minded. Imho you are politically and philosophically naive, which is something you have in common with many real Libertarians. <G> But that doesn't make you one. I wish you could disagree with me in an intelligent manner. You are not being a thought-provoking adversary in discussion/debate. Maybe it would be better if you put me on 'Ignore', eh? regards, diana
