Fred, understandably, blames Hyde. According to Cherie, the marriage was practically over when the affair began. There is nothing strange in the idea of a "normal affair". Falling for someone during a fallow time in one's marriage, especially at mid- life, and letting things get out of hand with a woman with whom one could have a credible relationship, is not so unusual, even among men who are not given to transgressive behavior. Since I have not familiar with allegations about their financial arrangement, even though I followed the story pretty closely at the time, I will refrain from comment........
