They engaged in improper conduct too.....I agreed that Livingstone was not fit to be Speaker of the House leading our party, once his faults came out. I am glad that Newt stepped down before his scandal broke. Moral failure is not, though, the same as hypocrisy. Livingstone was never notably associated with the family values wing of the party, and Newt was not particularly sanctimonious either. Clinton was not impeached for getting "satisfaction", but for defrauding the court. Had it only been a matter of scandal, Hyde might very well have argued in the same manner he did for Crane.......
