<Frankly, I prefer to use my VISA card when shopping on the internet! In fact, I regret to say I don't see much use for gold backed currency for internet transactions. >

IMO, the use of gold backed currencies in global e-commerce will be merchant driven. The benefit to them cannot be ignore over the long term. Itwill be a slow process but it will happen. Already 1999 Nobel Price winner, Robert Mundell is talking of the Unor or Intor as the next global currency ("or" is Gold in French").

As of today, more than $2 millions USD worth of e-gold is spend every 24 hours. This will grow exponentially in the coming years.

Gold Currencies will also become the favorite currency for those who want to save for the long term. Better than bullions, gold currencies are bullions highly divisible and spendable on the net and in the brick and mortar economy.

Do I sound like a goldbug ? -:)
