ST, I suppose in the hubris of dot.com mania, people in dot.coms developed a feeling of omnipotence and felt little need to be unctuously respectful of their customers, solicitious of their opinions and careful of their needs. Now, the chickens have come home to roost and it's dot.gone panic. In the early days of a business, [Hooray for Brad, Jeff and Jill], customer/member relations are very personal and there's a feeling of belonging. Now, there isn't such a feeling of belonging. swisstrader, if this community has been ruined, why don't you leave? There's little policing over on Raging Bull, and almost none on Yahoo. Why don't you move on to greener pastures, instead of hanging around here whining? I've never heard of you before this thread, BTW - I guess we just never crossed paths. And now I'm glad we never did... I am pretty outspoken myself, and have been suspended by Bob a couple of times. While I didn't always agree with him, I respected his decisions, and would have to agree that there was at least a shade of grey. I've also submitted violations to him that were acted-upon, so I'd have to say, on-balance, that I've observed him to be fair.

Admin Bob did a MAJOR intervention on the LWP/BR/RWET threads. They had deteriorated to where they sounded like they were full of bickering, spiteful three-years-olds. As a result of that intervention, most of the time they now sound like adults having a political discussion. Yeah, things have really deteriorated- -if you're a spiteful three-year-old.
